Can you believe it is already December? Where does the time go!? Sounds like it's time for more holiday themed nail polish collections! I have a cute little collection from Whimsical Ideas by Pam to share with you today. This set of six polishes is a great mix of finishes and colors. Something for everyone! I think I say that with every Whimsies collection I review. That is because Pam really likes to have creative mixes for collections. I rarely see a collection of all of the same finish or theme with her polishes. Let's take a look at what she has whipped up for us this holiday season!
Christmas 2017 - A clear base glitter topper with a mix of white matte hexes, small semi-transparent red hexes, silver holo hexes, tiny metallic gold hexes and green metallic tree glitters. This is a fun Christmas topper! With the predominant color of the glitters being white, I thought this would look great for a classic red creme. The glitter payoff is quite good with the glitter to base ratio be perfect. The tree glitters did require slight manipulation to get them where you wanted but not the rest of the glitter. I am showing you one coat over Zoya Carmen with a top coat.
Never Never Land - A clear based glitter topper with a mix of metallic glitters in hexes and squares. The colors of the glitters are mainly shades of green with flashes of cranberry, pink and blue. I was so happy with the application of this glitter. The glitter to base ratio was spot on, no bubbles, no over-manipulation, no bald patches...perfect. I am showing you one coat over Cirque Colors Big Wave with top coat.
Shalom - A clear based glitter polish with a mix of blue hex and square glitters as well as teeny tiny blue microglitter with lavender and iridescent microshimmer. I think this polish looks great as a topper but you might be able to get this fully opaque with enough coats. I would totally rock this shade over the bare nail. The shimmery base gives it a magical look over a light base. I am showing you one coat over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with top coat.
Holly Jolly - A clear based glitter bomb that is packed with metallic flakies in green, gold and silver with larger pieces of metallic green and purple shards and matte red tiny hex glitters. So shiny! This polish is fairly dense and I feel works best as a fully opaque polish. But you could totally do a light coat over a base color. The addition of the purple is a nice touch. I am showing you three coats with glossy top coat here. You would probably be good with just two coats with all of the reflective flakies in here.
Drama Queen - A deep royal purple with contracting pink/magenta fine shimmer. I loved this color but my camera did not. In real life, this is a for real purple color. My camera would only pick this up as blue. On my phone screen, this looks cobalt blue. On my desktop screen, this looks intensely purple. So I have no idea what you are going to see in my photos! But I promise you, this polish is nobility at it's finest. A deep, rich, jewel toned purple with great shimmer. This is three coats with top coat.
Tin Foil - A bright silver foil. This shade is shiny but not chrome. It really does look a lot like tin foil. The formula is sheer but still buildable. I am showing you three coats with top coat here.
Isn't this a fun little collection? I am really happy with the glitters and I have really fallen out of love with glitter toppers over the past few years. But these glitters are super smooth to apply and looked great. The Whimsical Holiday 2017 Collection has released today! All polishes are $10 each.
