Do you love holos? Do you love fall colors? Well then you are going to love this collection from Pahlish. They always to great holographic shades during the Halloween season (2015 and 2016) but they are great for the entire fall and winter season. The polish names in this collection are all based on the ever awesome Nightmare Before Christmas movie. This set of 8 new shades is limited edition and I am a little behind in getting them out to you. So we had better get right into the swatches, right?
Deadly Nightshade - A deep indigo purple with linear holographic effect and strong duochrome shifty shimmer. Such a lovely shade. Not only is the blue to pink shift beautiful but the base color is gorgeous, too. The formula was very nice as well. I an showing you two coats with glossy top coat here. The first three photos are under direct lighting while the last two are under two light sources at different angles to show off that shift better.
What is This? - A purple leaning medium pink linear holographic with rainbow crystal chameleon flakies. The deeper shade of pink fits in well for the fall but it is a color that would work year round. The holo is pretty intense and the red/pink toned flakies seem to show up the best. Nice formula as well. I am showing you two coats with glossy top coat here.
Lock, Shock and Barrel - A deep grey/taupe scattered holographic with fine red/copper shifting shimmer. Such an interesting shade! The shifting shimmer isn't strikingly shifty but it does give this polish a different color in every light. Sometimes it looks grey, sometimes is it more brown and then it have pinks and purple that poke through. Very cool. This swatch is two coats with glossy top coat.
Pumpkin King - A rusted red multichrome with fine linear holographic effect that shifts from magenta to red to orange to copper to gold. The finish on this shade is slightly metallic and some brush strokes may show through. It is a great fall shade! The rusty reds and oranges are exactly what I am missing about living in a place that has actual seasons. The first three photos are under directly light. The last two are under two light sources to show off the shift a little better. Two coats with glossy top coat here.
Oogie Boogie - A soft dove grey with soft linear holographic effect and aqau crystal chameleon flakies. Do I even need to say how much I like this shade? It is definitely more of a winter color for most people but I would wear this year round. The flakies are very subtle but do poke out at an angle nicely. The formula was slighly thicker that the others. Here is two coats with glossy top coat.
Sandy Claws - A deep vampy wine/burgundy with scattered holographic effect and blue to pink shifting shimmer. A must have for fall! This vampy shade is great not only for the holographic effect but the blue shimmer contrasts so lovely with the dark base. It is super opaque and you could definitely get away with just one coat. I am showing you two here with top coat.
Frog's Breath - A dark olive green liner holographic with red to copper to gold to green multichrome shifting shimmer. Oh boy! This shade is a chameleon. It is dark green but has such an intense shifty shimmer that is looks coppery. Very cool and sure to be a favorite for fall. This too was quite opaque. I am showing you two coats with glossy top coat here. The first three photos are under direct lighting while the last two are under two light sources to show off the shift better.
Ride with the Moon - A medium icy blue hologrpahic with pink and orange crystal chameleon flakies. The holographic effect is both scattered and slightly linear in this shade. Another polish that would work year round. Nice formula here. This is two coats with glossy top coat.
What a nice collection of holos! My faves would have to be Oogie Boogie, Sandy Claws, and Lock, Shock and Barrel. Which are your faves? If you want to pick up these shades, you must hurry over to the Pahlish online store. After Halloween, they are gone! There are also a few polishes from the previous Holoween collection available on the site as well. The new shades are $11 each. Go get them :)
