Today, I have a bright and fun summer collection to share with you all. Nine Zero Lacquer has just released the Smoothie Bar Collection which gives me all the 80s retro summer vibes. They have paired neon colors with black shredded glitters for a look that Kelly Kapowski would totally rock. They are all very bright, basically neons. But they don't need a white base to get that bright neon look. Let's dig in!
Just note on the formula for all of these to I don't repeat myself so much. They were all slightly thick but still easy to apply. They do dry slightly dull and the shredded glitters can stick out a little bit, so a good top coat is recommended. For all of these swatches, I am showing you two coats with glossy top coat.
Watermelon Juice - A bright neon pink crelly with black shredded glitter. Neon pink and black were made to be paired together. It is just perfect! Once you get a top coat on this shade, it looks like plastic on your nails. I had several people ask if my nails were press-ons when wearing this mani.
Mango Sunrise - A neon orange/coral crelly with black shredded glitters. This shade made my camera freak out...like most neon orange shades tend to do. It is very bright and I love it. There was some small bits of neon pigment still present in the bottle. But you can't really see them on the nail well because of the glitter.
Pineapple Punch - A neon yellow crelly with black shredded glitter. Another super bright shade here. I thought I would need three coats with this green tinged neon yellow but It covered just fine in two coats.
Matcha & Mint - A neon mint green crelly with black shredded glitter. This shade is both soft and bright at the same time. The formula was the trickiest out of the bunch, a little thicker than the other shades. But it all smoothed out well with a top coat.
Blackberry Banana - A pastel neon purple crelly with black shredded glitter. This is the least neon of the bunch but just a great purple shade. This is going straight on my toes for my next pedicure.
I really, REALLY like this collection. It is simple but works so well. My surprise fave is Watermelon Juice. Being a child of the 80s...this color calls to me. Which is your fave? The Smoothie Bar Collection is available now to order from the Nine Zero site. You can get the whole collection for $50 or buy them individually for $9 each.
