Great Lakes Lacquer released a gorgeous collection today. They are shifty and bright and oh so interesting on the nail. Plus, they are all inspired by famous works of poetry. Which the nerd in me loves. The Polishing Poetic Collection is a group of 8 polishes in a variety of finishes and colors. Everyone is sure to find something that they like in this collection. Pre-order started today...so let's take a look!
The Dying of the Light - A blackened indigo base with a splash of shifty shimmer. The shimmer color shifts from red/purple to a green/gold. The formula of this shade is slightly jelly like and gives is a sheerer look on the first coat but was fully opaque for me on the second. This is quite a sexy shade!
Leaves No Step Had Trodden - A bright grass green metallic. This shade does have a very slight duochrome effect but it is not super apparent. But damn is it bright! The formula was nice and it was opaque for me in two coats.
In a Handful of Dust - A raspberry toned metallic duochrome that shifts from deep magenta to rusty orange. This shade is shimmery and bright but still deep and warm at the same time. You can really see the nice shift in my last two photos under two light sources. Again, nice formula with opacity in two coats.
The Tune Without Words - A bright blue metallic duochrome that shifts from azure to cobalt to indigo with more of a purple tinge at the end. Even though the shift is subtle in this shade, it is really pretty on the nail. You can see that purple come out at the edges on my last two shots.
Ease One Life the Aching - A deep blue to purple multichrome with intense linear holographic effect. The holo is cray in this polish but still doesn't deter from the shift. Nice formula here.
The Centre Cannot Hold - A red to gold multichrome with intense linear holographic effect. Dang...this polish is fun! You can see in my direct lighting shots how intense the holo and the pink flash is. The in the indirect, dual light source shots you can really see that nice warm shift. A total chameleon. Nice formula with just two coats needed.
I Carry Your Heart - A deep purple jelly this bright shimmer that shifts from purple to red. Yum! this polish is really nice. The shift is subtle but intriguing. Overall, the effect is very warm and almost glowing from within. And it looks super squishy with a glossy top coat. I used two coats here.
Like Air, I'll Rise - A soft aqua to mint to lavender to pink multichrome with crazy linear holographic effect. Okay...this polish is amazing. I am sure this will be the crowd favorite. It's like a pastel multichrome. I didn't even know that existed. My last macro shot under dual lighting really shows off this pastel rainbow effect well. So cool. So, so cool. I am showing you two coats here.
Don't you love this collection? I do. The shifts are really nice with interesting combinations. Plus, they have very nice formulas. If I was forced to pick a favorite, I would have to choose I Carry Your Heart because it just looks cool cool on my shorties. Which is your fave? As I said before, this collection just released for pre-order today. Pre-order will continue through March 3rd. The holos are $12 each and the other are $11 each. Or you can get the entire 8 piece collection for $80 during pre-order. What a steal that is!!
