Today, I have a fun little collection of cremes and shimmer toppers to share with you all from Glisten and Glow. This collection is inspired by the Dr. Seuss book 'Oh, The Places You'll Go' which is something many of us got as a graduation gift because it is inspiring and encouraging. The cremes in this collection match the book's color palette perfectly! Glisten and Glow is known not only for their amazing top coat but they do amazing cremes and holos as well. Along with this collection, G&G has released a new matte top coat. And it is great! I will be showing you all of the manicures in both glossy and matte versions using Glisten and Glow's top coats. Let's take a look!
Today Is Your Day - A bright yellow creme. This color leans a little on the neon side with a drop of orange added in. It is super bright! The formula was pretty darn good. It is a little streaky on the first coat but then covered completely with the second coat. That is great for a yellow polish as they are notoriously difficult to work with. I am showing you two thicker coats with both HK Girl Quick Dry Top Coat and then the Matte Top Coat.
Great Balancing Act - A bright creamsicle orange cream. This, too, is almost neon but had a nice formula. There is a lot of yellow in this orange creme making it pair nicely with Today Is Your Day. The formula was nice and applied similarly to the yellow, streaky on the first coat but covered completely on the second. I am showing you two thicker coats with both the glossy and matte top coats from G&G.
Your Mountain is Waiting - A cool toned medium pink creme. Some would call this bubblegum pink while others would say Pepto Bismol pink. I think it looks like both depending on the the top coat! It is a really nice, classic pink that everyone needs in their collection. While it isn't a super unique color, it does have a wonderful formula. This is two coats with both HK Girl and Matte top coats.
98 and 3/4 Percent Guaranteed - A soft periwinkle creme. What a pretty shade! This periwinkle color leans more baby blue in some lights and more lavender in others. The formula was quite nice as well. This was two easy coats with both glossy and matte top coats from G&G.
Bang Ups and Hang Ups - A microflakie shimmer topper with iridescent flecks that shift from blue to green. This will not get opaque on it's own and works best as a topper. I would wear it over the bare nail all the time, but that's me. I am showing you one coat over the four cremes in this collection along with black. It showed up nicely over darker colors. You get to see it with both the glossy and the matte top coat.
Fun to be Done - A microflakie shimmer topper with iridescent flakes that shift from pink to purple to red to yellow. Another fun shimmer affect topper. This looks great over darker colors as well. I am showing you one coat over all four cremes in the collection plus black. Here is both the glossy and matter versions using G&G top coats.
How about a little nail art!! For this first look, I painted a base layer of Bang Ups and Hang Ups and then topped it with HK Girl. Once that was dry, I applied a single chevron nail vinyl and pained on two coats of 98 and 3/4 Percent Guaranteed. Then I removed the nail vinyl with the polish still wet. I really like the added shimmer to the negative space on my nail. Do you like the glossy to the matte version better?
Since that look was subdued and cool, I decided I needed another nail art look that was bright and cheery. I started with a simple gradient of Today is Your Day and Great Balancing Act using a makeup sponge. These two shades so great together! Then I stamped on a delicate floral design using Your Mountain is Waiting and a plate from UberChic. I loved how this turned out! I might like the glossy version better in photos but the matte version was better in real life. Which do you prefer?
Overall, I really like this collection. The cremes go so well together and the matte top coat is fantastic. I swear I am going to have a matte top coat comparison for you all very shortly! This collection is available right now. You can get the entire collection of 4 cremes, 2 shimmas and the matte top coat for $45. Glisten and Glow also has other smaller groups of just the cremes or just the shimmas as well as selling them all individually. Be sure to check out the other fantastic cremes that they have to offer while you are picking up this collection!
