The next Awesome Sauce Indie Box launched tonight! This quarterly box is a themed collection of indie nail polish brands with some extra nail art and bath/body care thrown in. The regular contributors to the box are Lavish Polish, Ever After Polish, Vapid Lacquer, and Anonymous Lacquer. They bring in a guest indie maker for each box and for this quarter is Cupcake Polish! Life in Plastic is the name of this box and it is inspired by Barbie. All of the extra bits are in the shape of the ponytail Barbie silhouette. Super fun.

Lavish Polish has contributed "Let's Go Party" to the box. This is a lavender crelly that has an interesting mix of gold and pink microglitter and holographic bits. The sparkle gives it a little bit of a warmer feel than you typically get with a lavender shade. This is two coats with a glossy top coat. Lavish Polish has also added some cute Barbie cameo glitter and nail charms.
Cupcake Polish has added in a pretty little Barbie pink linear holo to the box. "Barbie Girl" is a bright pink, Barbie Corvette color with a strong linear holographic shimmer. There is also a nice purple flash in this baby. I did two coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch. Cupcake Polish is known for their amazing holos.
Ever After Polish is giving us "Malibu Barbie" which is a sea foam green jelly with a mix of flashy pink and aqua microflakies and holographic shimmer. This color is very pretty but it is quite sheer. I did three coats with a glossy top coat and you can still see my nail line. I haven't tried this over a creme (white or aqua) but I bet it would look great. Ever After Polish has also contributed "Malibu Mud" which is a face mask and scrub. It contains sea clay and sea kelp with pumice and jojoba scrubbies. Who doesn't love a good face mask?
Anonymous Lacquer's contribution is "Bridezilla" which is a white creme packed with rainbow microshimmer. The shimmer is intense with this one! I did two thicker coats with a glossy top coat for this one and was pretty happy with the coverage. It is a little on the thick side with all of the shimmer. I would advise to be very neat with your application because cleaning up the shimmer is tedious. Anonymous Lacquer has also added a little sample size of their pear-berry lotion bar. It smells lovely!
Vapid Lacquer has a stunner for the box. "Demolition Barbie" is a black based polish packed with pink to blue shifty microshimmer as well has holographic sparks. This polish is pretty darn cool. It is opaque in two coats and a glossy top coat is recommended. The holo sparks are a little bit gritty. I took the macro with two light sources to show off that shifty shimmer.
This box is super fun even is you aren't into Barbie. The Awesome Sauce Indie Box is a great way to try out some new to you indie brands. They have a full sized box with all 5 polishes in full size for $50 and a mini sized version for $30. The extra bits are all the same size in each box. The Life in Plastic box is available now for pre-order. Will you be picking up this selection of pretties?
