Tonight, I have a new to me indie brand to share with you. Moo Moo's Signatures is the brain child of Mei Mei's Signatures out of Singapore. Mei Mei has been supplying the nail polish and beauty addicts hard to get polishes from around the world. They are one of the most popular indie stockists that will ship worldwide. I have ordered from her once before a few years ago when I was crushing some Takko Lacquer lemmings. Mei Mei started Moo Moo's Signatures late in 2014 to sell handmade needle felting animals and 3-free handmade nail polishes. I was really excited to review these polishes after seeing some amazing swatches from my pal, Lotte. The polishes I am sharing today are not from a specific collection, just a sampling to Mei Mei's work. I hope you like them as much as I do!
"Moo-dy Mary" is reddish wine colored base that is packed with gold and green microflakies. The gold flakies are a little more opaque and the green ones are more sheer and iridescent. I really, really loved this color. The application was great and it was opaque in two coats (I do thicker coats in general). There is also a little bit of fine holo shimmer in here, too. I tried to get all of the cool bits in the macro for you.
"Ancient Spellbook" is a white crelly base that is packed with sterling silver shimmer, holo hexes, some pink flakies and these incredible red shifting hexes. This formula was slightly tricky with all of the glitter and shimmer in here. I used three thin coats for full and even opacity. I felt very meh about it until I put a glossy top coat on. I actually gasped out loud when the shifting red glitter lumped off of my nail. I did not see them at all until the top coat went on. My photos don't really do this polish justice. I tried to capture those shifty red glitters in the macro for you. They are spectacular in real life!
"Yeti-Moo" is fun topper that is a nice mix of matte white glitters, small iridescent glitters and some intense holo shimmer. I used one coat with a tiny bit of dabbing for the larger glitters here. I think the white and iridescent glitters are quite striking against the dark blue base but I have seen it used over lighter colors for a more ethereal look. I am usually not a big fan of odd shaped glitters, but the stars and flowers are fairly small and easily fit on my small nails.
"Snow Bunny" is a light sky blue holographic polish. This is a lovely blue for spring and it is made even more special by an intense pink shimmer that pops out at certain angles. It's soft and muted but still beautiful on the nail. I can see this being the perfect wedding nails for spring brides! I did two thicker coats for this swatch with a glossy top coat. You get an extra shot of this baby to show off the pink shimmer.
"Ladylike Eyeshadow" is a stark baby pink creme with silver flakes, tiny holo glitters and pink and blue shifty microflakies. This polish made me think of pink conversation hearts. The extra white in the base of this color gives it sort of a chalky look and the silver flakes peak out from behind the more opaque base and just look so interesting. I did two regular coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch. If you are a pink polish lover, you need this one!
I have to say...I'm a fan. I enjoyed all of these polishes and was quite happy with their application. My favorites would be Snow Bunny and Moo-dy Mary. Since Mei Mei sells some needle felting animals on her site, she includes a little felt wool ball with each polish which is kind of cute. Be sure to follow Moo Moo's Signatures on all of their social media outlets for info on new releases and sales.
