Tonight, I am sharing swatches of a fun little holiday collaboration box from four great indie polish makers. The First Gift of Christmas box is inspired by the book/movie The Polar Express. This was one of my favorite holiday stories when I was younger, so I was excited to see what everyone created with this inspiration. The box will come with four full sized polishes from each of the makers (Ellagee, Girly Bits Cosmetics, Frenzy Polish and Ever After Polish) that are exclusive to this collaboration box. Each of the polishes come wrapped in a red velvet pouch as well as some other festive little treats including a mini top coat, hot chocolate bath dust, peppermints and a jingle bell. Only true believers will be able to hear it ring :)
"The Bell Still Rings for Me" from Ellagee is a gorgeous silver metallic shimmer polish that is sprinkled with tiny shreds of holographic silver. The shreds are small and mix in nicely with the base. They do not change the the color of the base but shoot out little rainbows at you from all different angles. Application was super smooth. I used two coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch.
"Hot! Hot! Hot!" from Girly Bits Cosmetics is a dark chocolate holographic polish with sparks of red and purple through out. I love a good brown holo and this one is extra special with the added red and purple bits. The formula was thick in a good way and a dream to apply. I used two coats with a glossy top coat. I almost got away with one coat.
"To the North Pole, of Course!" from Frenzy Polish is a deep cobalt blue jelly polish packed with silver flakes, iridescent flakies, blue and aqua glitters and holo shimmer. This is the first time I have tried Frenzy Polish and I am a fan! The blue jelly base is a gorgeous color and screams winter. I used two coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch.
"Believe" by Ever After Polish is a holiday glitter bomb! This is a clear based glitter polish densly packed with silver holographic shimmer, gold holographic microglitter and larger reg and green holographic glitters. It is so shimmery and glittery and holographic! Even though this polish is super glitter dense, it was very easy to apply and wasn't gritty. I used two coats with a glossy top coat and I was happy with the coverage. If you have longer nails and whiter tips, then you may like a third coat.
The First Gift of Christmas box will be available for pre-order Novemeber 19th through November 21st. This will be the only time you will be able to order the box, so be sure to mark your calanders! The box is available for $40 for all four full sized limited edition polishes and the extra goodies. You can order from Ellagee's online store during the pre-order window.
Thanks for stopping by!
