Tonight, I have some sparkly goodies from South America to share with you! Esmaltes Da Kelly is an indie brand out of Brazil that I have been getting from Color4Nails for a long time now. They always have awesome glitters! So I was pretty excited to open my press sample box from Color4Nails and see a bunch of new glittery gems from Esmaltes Da Kelly in there. I was sent half of the new Marvel & DC Comics collection for review and I have all of them for you today. One of the cutest things about this collection are the bottle labels. Each label has a little caricature of the comic book hero/villain that the polish was inspired by and each bottle cap has a cute little black bow. These polishes are available now at Color4Nails for US customers. Let's take a look!
"Green Lantern" is a green jelly based polish packed with green, black, white glitters in metallic and holographic finishes. The glitters are all pretty small and there is a littel holo shimmer running through this polish too. I very much enjoy a good microglitter...especially when it can be opaque in just two coats. I used two coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch.
"Joker" is a purple jelly based polish packed with a similar white and black glitter look as "Green Lantern" but with purple and pink glitters mixed in. Even with the jelly base, it was opaque in two coats. A glossy top coat really smooths everything out nicely.
"Superman" is a classic superman blue colored polish. The base is a true blue jelly packed with black and white glitters, blue holographic glitters and some holo shimmer. This is a great blue polish! I used two coats for full opacity with a glossy top coat to give it a smooth shine.
"Wonder Woman" is red...obviously! The red jelly base is a blue toned deep red. It is packed with red and gold metallic glitters as well as some bright pink/fuchsia glitters. A light holographic shimmer runs through this, too. I used two coats with a glossy top coat for this swatch.
"Thor" is a stunner! I am a huge fan of coppery/gold microglitters and this polish does not disappoint. There is a lovely mix of orange, copper, brown, and gold glitters with a subtle holographic shimmer in a clear base. In love! I used two coats for full opacity. You could probably get away with doing a light single coat over a base color for a microglitter topper effect.
"Hawkeye" was the only crelly based polish I got in my package. The base is a nude beige color that is a packed with gold and copper holographic glitters. I thought this one was going to be my favorite in the bunch but the base wasn't squishy enough to float the glitters in it. It dried down incredibly gritty. I had to use two thick layers of top coat and there was still a little bit of bumpiness to the finish. It's still very pretty and a great work appropriate color.
These polishes as well as the rest of the Marvel & DC Comics collection are available on Color4Nails right now. They sell for only $8 each! That is a steal! My fave is "Thor" but the jelly microglitters are all fantastic. Let me know if you have ever tried this brand before and if you plan on picking any of these up for yourself. ;)
