This weekend, I have some super sparkly beauties to share with you all. I was sent the Powder Perfect Upper Kingdom Collection from my favorite indie nail polish stockist, Color4Nails. I have been purchasing international indie brands from Color4Nails for a very long time now (since they were just a Facebook page and took orders via email 2 years ago!). They are my go to stockist and I love them. Prices are great and they ship quickly. So, as you can imagine, I was pretty excited to become part of their blogger team to help promote new collections they are stocking.
I have been eyeing this Australian brand for a while now as well. Powder Perfect has a great range to holographics and glitters that are quite eye catching and I have heard rave reviews about them. Well...this collection of 5 full coverage microglitters did not disappoint! The Upper Kingdom Collection is inspired by Ancient Egypt. I am truly loving this collection and it makes me want to try even more of Powder Perfect's line. The formulas were perfect and opaque in two coats. Let's get into some swatches and macros!
"Land of Reeds" is a grass green holographic microglitter and holy hell, it's amazing! The base is a sheer lime green packed with green and gold holographic glitters. This is so glitter packed that it is completely opaque in 2 coats. I topped my swatch with a glossy top coat to smooth out the glitters. They weren't textured but not completely smooth. So pretty!
"Abydos" is a pale gold holographic microglitter ina clear base. I will always love a good gold glitter. They go with almost everything and make the perfect accent nails and pinkie bling. This gold is pale and looks more like sand than bright yellow gold. There are some silver holo glitters in there too which help to mute the gold tones. I used two coats and a glossy top coat for this swatch. Expect to see this in my regular accent nail rotation!
"Flowering Lotus" is a pretty purple microglitter polish. The color of the base is a sheer purple and it's packed with lilac, pink and silver glitters. If you love purple polish, you will need this baby! I used two coats with a glossy top coat. It will dry down a little rough with all the glitters, so a good top coat will make it all nice a smooth.
"Thebes" is a stunning copper holographic microglitter. It has a sheer orange/coppery base and is packed with an interesting mix of copper microglitters. There are some larger microglitters in this mix that are more metallic and look darker at different angles. I think that is why I like this one so much, that little extra just separates it from the rest. I did two easy coats plus a glossy top coat for this swatch.
"Nekhbet" is a turquoise holographic microglitter. The base of this polish is the most tinted of them all, a pale teal color. The glitter mix is a nice combo of turquoise, silver and aqua microglitters. I used two coats with a glossy top coat here.
Beautiful polishes, right?!??! If you are in Australia, you can get this collection straight from the Powder Perfect online store. But here in the US, get your fix at Color4Nails.
