My mani today is inspired by
poppy flowers. I say inspired by because I could never approach the beauty of painted poppies. Sadly, I wasn't happy with how this manicure turned out. It also didn't photograph very well. In person the color differences are obvious between OPI On Collins Ave (the base color), OPI Vodka and Caviar (the lowlight/shadow color), Zoya America (the poppy color), and OPI A Roll In The Hague (the highlight color). Honestly it just looks like one color in these photos.

I tried adding a matte top coat to make it look more art-like, but it didn't seem to help much.

I was actually dreading inspired by artwork day just for this reason, I just haven't mastered the art of translating beautiful artwork onto my nails.
