The shocking part? Read my story below to find out:
I ordered Actin-ium My Age from Elemental Styles on Etsy after loving the two mini bottles Iron Man-ia and King Neptunium that I purchased last month. When I saw from the Elemental Styles Blog that there would be a shop opening I just had to wait around to see what I could get. I ended up buying this amazing purple for $8. Of course, since I was so rushed to catch polish in the opening, I had no idea what I was actually buying!
...So my package came in the mail, and the next day I decided to try it out. When applying the polish I noticed that the formula was a bit odd, it was thick and didn't act like most shimmers that I have used in the past. Regardless of this fact, I went about my business noting (happily) that the polish is opaque in one coat. I dutifully applied a second coat, and top coat (although Actin-ium My Age dries really smooth on its own) and went about my business the rest of the afternoon. Around dinner-time I stopped being absorbed in my work enough to truly admire my nails, and when I looked closely I noticed that this wasn't just a purple shimmer with glitter... there was a hint of holo. Surprised I immediately opened the curtain on my window to stare down at the gorgeous-purple-holographic-glitter-amazingness. I was shocked, but so excited that I now own such a beautiful deep rich purple holo. It's little things like this that totally make my day. :)
Seriously I'm in love with this polish. I understand now why the formula was a little "thick" for a shimmer (because it's a holo Rebecca... duh!). Some days I just have to laugh at my own stupidity.
Thanks! I've been really impressed by the Elemental Styles polishes I've bought lately. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalie!
DeleteThis is lovely, I adore purple.
ReplyDeleteI do too! I think this is one of my new favorite purples. I've already worn it 3 times (which is a lot for me!)
Deletethis is really pretty! i'm kinda tired of indie polishes containing obvious holos so i love the subtle effect in this one :D
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, and they usually have that same strange silvery color that looks dull when it's not in direct sunlight.
DeletePretty colour! x
