Oh boy...there is some awesomeness to talk about today. Generally, when you hear someone gushing about how great a nail polish is, they are talking about some fantastic color or amazing shimmer. But today we are talking about some seriously dope staples. Takko Lacquer is releasing their first black and white creme polishes this month. They have released one creme polish before but are coming out with 9 cremes this summer. The first ones I am showing you are Vice and Iconoclast, the one coat wonders. Everyone needs a good white and black polish. They are perfect for bases under glitters and other toppers. They are essential to nail type of nail art. And they look great on their own for a full manicure. Takko Lacquer is filling that need now!
"Iconoclast" is a black creme. The formula is spot on. I have one single thickish coat on the nail here. It does dry pretty darn shiny but I do have a glossy top coat on in this swatch. It is super duper pigmented, so don't be sloppy with your application or you will be doing a lot of clean up. ONE COAT!
"Vice" is a white creme. Let me repeat myself...ONE COAT! I am not lying. This is one thick coat with a glossy top coat here. Be still my heart. Who doesn't need a one coat creme in their collection?
And because this polishes are so opaque, they make for great stamping polishes. Here I used a swirly design from the UberChic 4-03 plate to stamp across each nail. This is without top coat because I was worried about streaking. Like with any stamping design, use a thick coat and float it over the image.
So exciting right?!?! These two are replacing my previous holy grail black and white polishes, Nevermore and Tempest, from Cult Nails. The summer collection is going to be released online May 27th but if you are in the NYC area you can pick them up at the Renegade Craft Fair on May 20th. Be sure sue check out Takko Lacquer's social media for up to date release/restock info. And stay tuned to this station for more colors from this collection!

They match so nicely to the bottles!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't intentional but they did end up looking very much like the Takko Lacquer logo.
